Spark Chemistry Pty Ltd  Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a ticket, registering for, or attending a Spark Chemistry Pty Ltd Speed Dating event ("Event"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility

Participants must:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Register using accurate information.
Purchase a valid ticket.
Attend the appropriate advertised age group.
Spark Chemistry reserves the right to request proof of age and may refuse entry if eligibility requirements are not met.

2. Ticket Purchases

  • Tickets are subject to availability.
  • Tickets are valid only for the event purchased.
  • Tickets may not be resold without prior written approval.
  • Ticket prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD).

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law:
Participant Cancellation
More than 72 hours before the event: You may request a transfer to another available event.
Less than 72 hours before the event: No refunds or transfers will normally be provided.
Failure to attend ("No Show"): No refund or credit.
Transfers are subject to availability and approval by Spark Chemistry.
Event Cancellation
If Spark Chemistry cancels an event, participants will receive either:
a full refund, or
a transfer to another event.

4. Event Changes

Spark Chemistry reserves the right to:
change venues;
change hosts;
change event times;
modify event formats;
combine age groups where appropriate.
Reasonable notice will be provided where possible.

5. Waitlist Policy

If an event is fully booked:
participants may join a waitlist;
spaces will be offered on a first-available basis;
joining a waitlist does not guarantee a ticket.

6. Code of Conduct

Spark Chemistry aims to provide a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment.
Participants must:
treat everyone with courtesy;
respect personal boundaries;
avoid offensive or discriminatory behaviour;
avoid unwanted physical contact;
refrain from aggressive, intimidating or abusive conduct;
follow directions given by event staff.
Failure to comply may result in immediate removal without refund.

7. Harassment & Zero-Tolerance Policy

Spark Chemistry has a zero-tolerance policy toward:
harassment;
bullying;
discrimination;
sexual harassment;
stalking;
threatening behaviour;
intimidation;
hate speech.
Participants engaging in such behaviour may:
be removed immediately;
be permanently banned from future events;
be reported to venue security or police where appropriate.

8. Respecting Match Decisions

Participants agree to respect the privacy and decisions of others.
If another participant chooses not to match or continue communication:
that decision must be respected;
repeated unwanted contact is prohibited;
harassment after the event may result in a permanent ban.

9. Alcohol & Responsible Behaviour

Where alcohol is available:
participants must drink responsibly;
intoxicated persons may be refused entry;
venue Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) rules apply.
Spark Chemistry reserves the right to refuse service or entry to intoxicated persons.

10. Health & Illness Policy

Please do not attend if you:
have symptoms of a contagious illness;
have recently tested positive for a communicable disease;
have been advised by a medical professional to isolate.
Where possible, participants who notify Spark Chemistry before the event may be offered a transfer to another event at our discretion.

11. Personal Safety

Spark Chemistry facilitates introductions only.
Participants acknowledge that:
attendance is voluntary;
they are responsible for their own personal safety;
Spark Chemistry does not perform criminal background checks unless specifically stated.
Participants should exercise reasonable caution when arranging meetings after an event.

12. Matching Process

Spark Chemistry cannot guarantee:
a match;
compatibility;
attraction;
future communication;
romantic relationships.
Matches occur only where both participants indicate mutual interest.

13. Privacy

Personal information is collected to:
administer events;
communicate with participants;
facilitate matching;
improve services;
comply with legal obligations.
Information will not be sold to third parties.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further details.

14. Match Information Retention

Match results will be retained only for the period reasonably necessary to:
communicate matches;
resolve participant enquiries;
comply with legal obligations.
Personal information will then be securely deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

15. Marketing Communications

By registering you may receive:
booking confirmations;
event reminders;
important event updates.
You will only receive promotional marketing emails where you have provided consent.
You may unsubscribe at any time.

16. Photography & Media

Spark Chemistry may take photographs or video during events for promotional purposes.
If you prefer not to appear in photographs or videos, please notify our staff before the event begins.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

17. Accessibility

Spark Chemistry welcomes participants of all backgrounds.
If you require reasonable accessibility assistance, please contact us prior to the event.
While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, accessibility features may vary depending on the venue.

18. Venue Rules

Participants must comply with:
venue policies;
liquor licensing laws;
emergency procedures;
health and safety requirements.
Failure to comply may result in removal from the event.

19. Late Arrival

Participants arriving after the event has commenced:
may not be admitted;
may miss one or more dates;
are not entitled to a refund.

20. Personal Property

Spark Chemistry is not responsible for:
lost property;
stolen items;
damaged personal belongings.
Participants are responsible for their own possessions.

21. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spark Chemistry shall not be liable for:
personal injury;
property loss or damage;
theft;
interactions between participants;
emotional distress;
relationship outcomes;
indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

22. Force Majeure

Spark Chemistry shall not be liable for cancellation or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:
natural disasters;
severe weather;
government restrictions;
public health emergencies;
venue closure;
strikes;
power failures.

23. Right to Refuse Entry

Spark Chemistry reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant whose behaviour may:
compromise safety;
disrupt the event;
negatively affect the experience of other attendees.
No refund will be payable in these circumstances.

24. Permanent Bans

Spark Chemistry reserves the right to permanently prohibit attendance at future events for participants who:
engage in harassment;
repeatedly breach these Terms;
threaten staff or participants;
provide false registration information;
engage in fraudulent conduct.

25. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, branding, event materials, website content and promotional materials remain the property of Spark Chemistry.
They may not be reproduced without written permission.

26. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
