Spark Chemistry is committed to creating a safe, respectful, inclusive and enjoyable environment where people can meet new connections comfortably.

This Participant Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, guests, staff, contractors and anyone participating in a Spark Chemistry event ("Event").
By attending a Spark Chemistry event, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
1. Respectful Behaviour
All participants are expected to:

treat others with kindness, dignity and respect;

communicate politely and appropriately;
-
respect personal boundaries;
-
allow others to express themselves freely;
-
accept that attraction and compatibility are personal choices.
Everyone attending should feel comfortable and welcome.
2. Consent and Personal Boundaries
Participants must:
-
respect verbal and non-verbal boundaries;
-
ask before initiating physical contact;
-
accept when someone is not interested;
-
respect another person's decision not to exchange contact details.
The absence of a clear "yes" should always be treated as a "no".
3. Harassment Policy
Spark Chemistry has a zero-tolerance approach to harassment.
Unacceptable behaviour includes:
-
unwanted romantic or sexual attention;
-
repeated attempts to contact someone who has declined;
-
inappropriate comments about appearance, body, age, race, gender or personal characteristics;
-
sexual jokes or comments;
-
unwanted touching;
-
intimidation;
-
threatening behaviour;
-
stalking or persistent unwanted communication.
Any participant engaging in harassment may be removed immediately.
4. Discrimination Policy
Spark Chemistry does not tolerate discrimination based on:
-
race;
-
ethnicity;
-
nationality;
-
religion;
-
disability;
-
gender;
-
sexual orientation;
-
age;
-
personal background.
Participants must treat all attendees respectfully regardless of differences.
5. Honest Registration Information
Participants must provide accurate information when registering.
This includes:
-
real name;
-
accurate age;
-
valid contact details;
-
truthful event information.
Providing false information may result in removal or a permanent ban from future events.
6. Relationship Status & Intentions
Participants are expected to attend with genuine intentions.
Participants must not:
-
misrepresent their relationship status;
-
pretend to be single when they are not;
-
use events primarily for commercial purposes;
-
attempt to sell products or services;
-
collect personal information from others without consent.
7. Alcohol & Responsible Conduct
If alcohol is available at an event:
Participants must:
-
drink responsibly;
-
remain respectful while consuming alcohol;
-
follow venue rules;
-
comply with staff instructions.
The following are prohibited:
-
excessive intoxication;
-
aggressive behaviour;
-
disturbing other guests;
-
unsafe conduct.
Intoxicated participants may be removed without refund.
8. Respecting Match Results
After the event:
-
matches should respect each other's choices;
-
participants should not pressure someone who does not respond;
-
unwanted contact should stop immediately if requested.
A lack of response should be respected as a decision.
9. Photography & Privacy
Participants must:
-
respect other people's privacy;
-
ask permission before taking photographs;
-
not record conversations without consent;
-
not share another participant's personal information publicly.
10. Reporting Concerns
If you experience or witness inappropriate behaviour, please notify:
-
Spark Chemistry staff during the event; or
-
contact us after the event.
Reports will be handled respectfully and confidentially where possible.
Spark Chemistry staff may:
-
provide warnings;
-
separate participants;
-
refuse entry;
-
remove participants from an event;
-
prevent future attendance.
Staff decisions are made to protect participant safety and event quality.
11. Consequences of Violations
Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in:
-
verbal warning;
-
removal from the event;
-
cancellation of membership or registration;
-
permanent ban from Spark Chemistry events;
-
referral to venue security or authorities where appropriate.
No refund will be provided where removal occurs due to participant misconduct.
12. Acceptance
By purchasing a ticket or attending a Spark Chemistry event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to follow this Participant Code of Conduct.
